Iā€™m a wedding & senior portrait photographer from WI who loves big laughs, sunshine and puppy snuggles. I'm armed with coffee on the daily and a heart for capturing joyful moments.

hello,

You deserve an amazing experience

tell me more

I can't wait to show you what it's like to be a KS Bride or #KatieSchubertSenior !

This title makes me laugh a little. It could be followed by a lot of things, knowing how this year went!

We started out 2020 strong with Behind the Scenes images! I had high hopes of having TONS of these to share. But then 2020 unfolded.

I moved from thriving to surviving. I cut out a lot of the fun, fluffy type of stuff that I do for my business, and focused on the necessities. I’m not proud of that, but it’s the truth and it’s what got me through. So, this post isn’t as jam-packed as I would have liked, but that is okay!

This is still one of my most fun posts and I’m excited to share it! I think it’s great for you to see my view-point on wedding days, as it’s something you don’t normally get to experience! They aren’t always the most flattering pictures of me… a lot of the times I look at these and think “what was I doing?!” But they are real. Wedding days involve a lot of running around, chaotic moments that you don’t ever see! It’s part of what makes it so high-energy and amazing.

Looking back at these, something stands out to me. I already know this because it’s my job, but I think it’s really apparent in these images just how much a photographer needs to lead a wedding day. In almost all of these images, I’m directing. I don’t think people realize that is a huge part of a photographer’s job to take charge, give clear & concise instruction, and to MAKE the images look the way they do.

With my style of portraits, the images don’t just happen, they are created.

As exhausting as it can be, it’s part of what I love about my job and what makes me proud of my work. Seeing these images is just another reminder of that šŸ™‚

So, here it is! Behind the Scenes from 2020. Enjoy!

Adam is always a good lighting test subject!

Like I said, not exactly the most flattering images of myself! Oh well šŸ™‚

Sessions are NOT all business! We love just chatting with our couples and getting to know them! To us, they’re not just clients. They are friends.

Team work! We LOVE working with Mitch and Emma from Fox River Films! They are AMAZING videographers and this wedding turned out so beautiful!

This snow was DEEP! I’m glad I wore these tall boots because these shots turned out great!

This was right before someone came out of this building and asked us to move. Boo! But I got the shots I needed šŸ™‚

The most amazing second shooter ever šŸ™‚ Holding up a wedding dress while trying not to fall on this slippery snow!

I was crying in this picture. I think we all were! One of the most epic, emotional first looks I’ve ever captured. Love you, Juna & Charlie!!

Handsome, Adam!!

Hey! I'm Katie!

This is where I share not only my work and show off my sweet couples, but also (many) pieces of my life. I'm an open book when it comes to talking about things I love, current obsessions, my cute pup, and my amazing hubby, so I hope you love reading about it! Also, you'll find quite a few resources for planning the wedding you've always dreamed of, so grab yourself a latte and start exploring!

-cheers, Katie
