Adam and I walked onto Heather’s grandparent’s property, expecting a quaint ceremony in the back of their home. We were both so excited! We pulled into the driveway, looked around, and both of our jaw’s dropped. Their house was not just a house, but more like a Wisconsin country estate. It was heart-stopping, with full-grown oaks lining the driveway leading to a property full of lush greenery, sheds built by their grandfather himself, a garage (more like a man’s dream space) housing a handful of classic cars.
Out front was bustling with family and good friends preparing for the day, arranging tables for dinner and cocktail hour. To the side, the ceremony location overlooking fields and rolling country hills so stunning it almost made me cry! A separate reception destination was out back, with a hand-built bar, vintage furniture and chandeliers, and a Koi pond.
The inside of the home was no different. Heather was getting ready for the day in her grandmother’s bedroom, which featured a large window overlooking the ceremony. It was such a special place, as we were able to witness all their friends and family members arriving and waiting for her to walk down the aisle.
This day was truly full of special moments and so much history. I was so happy to be a part of it and capture everything meaningful to them, from her grandmother’s window, to the bridge and train tracks down the road, to the speeches given by her closest friends and family. During the toasts, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight (including mine!)
There was so much thought put into every single thing, which made the day even more special. I am more than confident that their marriage is going to be just as special as their wedding day, and could not be happier for them as they start this new journey!
Look at that detail! There was so much gorgeous beading on this dress. I just loved it!
That stunning window made for the perfect backdrop right before Heather walked down the aisle
Such a stunning bride! Look at that joy!
One of my favorites from the day! Heather, you are so stunning!
It is ALWAYS a good idea to build in time for sunset portraits! Even if it’s just for 15 minutes. And this is why! Nobody will even notice you’re gone, and you’ll get those gorgeous, glowy images and a bit of alone time with just the two of you.
So beautiful, you two!
