A lot of you know that Adam and I are in the process of building our first home. We’re about 5 weeks out from (carefully) busting through that front door, doing the biggest happy dance, and making that new house our home.

While simultaneously doing all the things you need to do when you’re about to move (setting up utilities, insurance, making notes of ALL the address changes) I’ve also been having fun buying new furniture and decor. A new house is like a fresh start, and I’m all about that.

I’ve also been looking for ways to add a little personality to our home. I literally have a check-list item of “Find custom things for our house”. Although I don’t think it’s a good idea to go monogram crazy or put our last name on everything we own, I do think it’s pretty cool to have a few things that are custom created just for you! It feels a little extra special.

I know a lot of you are in a different stage than us. The wedding planning stage 🙂 So fun! And I thought, if I was planning my wedding again, I would want to do the same thing as I’m doing now. Infuse personality into my day as a way to make it even more special.

I’ve been a fan of Simply Jessica Marie on Instagram for a while now. Not only because her light & colorful aesthetic is so dreamy, but I’m so in love with what she creates. Jessica is an incredibly talented artist that creates a lot of different things, but I wanted to share about what she calls, “The Crest Bar.”

The Crest Bar is a way for you to custom create your own family “crest” with things that are meaningful to you. Icons and colors and little details that are meaningful to your relationship and your life. She has TONS of different options for you to create something that perfectly represents you and your life and is SO perfect to incorporate into your wedding day!

Your crest could be used on cocktail napkins, invitations & seals, art prints to show off at your dessert table, gifts for your bridal party… you name it, it’s probably possible!

If I could do it over again, this is something I would 100% get behind, so I wanted to share it with you just in case you’re looking for a little something to add to your day! I may even invest in a Crest at some point to frame and showcase in our home. I can tell you that our crest would have an English Bulldog, lots of blue & water and white florals, and our new home 🙂
