I can't wait to show you what it's like to be a KS Bride or #KatieSchubertSenior !

There used to be a time when my day looked like this:

Wake up at 6am, check and respond to emails, shower and get ready for work, get to the office by 8:00am and work until 5pm (or later), come home and quickly eat dinner, spend a little time with Adam, and check (and respond to) emails late into the night.

Every day. The same routine.

Sounds fabulous, right?

Not exactly. Not to me anyway. Especially not anymore.

Self-care wasn’t always as the top of the list and it wasn’t what I knew. I thought that if I wanted to get ahead and make use of my hard-earned college degree, I had to prioritize work and ONLY work for the rest of my life. I put everyone and everything ahead of myself because it made them happy, which made them like me, which lead to career advancement.

Looking back, I was so wrong. That’s not how I want to live. Because that truly isn’t living. It’s surviving. Not thriving.

There is so much more to life than being at the mercy of everyone else’s needs 24/7. I’m not saying that you don’t need to work hard and serve others to be successful, you absolutely do. That’s a big part of what my business is rooted in. What I’m saying is, there are other things in life that matter. You do not have to sacrifice all things that make you happy & healthy in order to be successful. In fact, I think those things go hand in hand.

For me, those are things like fitness, time for rest, fun activities with my husband, getting enough sunshine and fresh air, and travel.

I started this business for a lot of reasons, but one of them was freedom. Freedom in my life to do the things that I want to do, that are both business and self-care related. My business has allowed me the freedom to create healthy habits, which make me a better, happier, more successful person.

Rachel Hollis says, “You, and only you, are ultimately responsible for who you become and how happy you are.” She’s right, so I changed my life and structured my days to be able to do that.

And it starts the minute I wake up.

Here is how I structure my morning and the rest of my day in order to not just survive, but to thrive in my business and in my life:

7am: Wake up, make coffee & read a book by the “fire” (I don’t have a real fireplace, so the Netflix “fireplace” is my jam!)

7:30am: Take care of my dog and focus my attention on him

8:00am: Start my workday, beginning with emails so my inbox is clear and I can work on projects that need to get done

12:00pm: break for lunch, get some fresh air, run errands if needed

4:00pm: Wrap up my work day and clean up my office. It’s important to me that my workspace is clean, organized, inspiring, and ready for me to begin the next day. For the most part, my work day ends here, but I will occasionally check emails later in the night in case anything truly urgent comes through.

4:00 – 5:00pm: Go to the gym / Barre class

5:00pm – 9:00pm: Time with Adam, making dinner and watching a show together. Asleep by no later than 10pm.

You’ll notice that within my work day, I’ve created time for things I mentioned are important to me, like: reading & personal growth/time, AKA “me time”. Fresh air & sunshine. Fitness. Time with my husband & dog.

These are “habits” that make me feel like I live a well-balanced life and guess what?! I don’t have to sacrifice my career because of it!

Life is hard, and figuring everything out all at the same time will never happen.  But slow growth in individual areas, to me, is the key. One step at a time!!

Hey! I'm Katie!

This is where I share not only my work and show off my sweet couples, but also (many) pieces of my life. I'm an open book when it comes to talking about things I love, current obsessions, my cute pup, and my amazing hubby, so I hope you love reading about it! Also, you'll find quite a few resources for planning the wedding you've always dreamed of, so grab yourself a latte and start exploring!

-cheers, Katie
