Adam and I were 26 & 24 years old when we got married. We met in college at 19 years old, and decided that after being together for 5 years, we couldn’t wait ANY longer! 🙂
I LOVED our wedding day! We had 120 of our closest friends and family on a small golf course with a big white tent & blush/champagne accessories. I wanted to channel a light & airy (shocking) and somewhat romantic garden theme with open air spaces and a ton of greenery.
At 24 years old and both of us being recent grads, we didn’t have a lot of money for a wedding. We were incredibly lucky that both of our sweet parents helped us fund our day. What we received from them is what we set our budget at. We had to be really smart about where we invested our money and what was most important to us.
I know a lot of brides are in the same boat I was – wanting a gorgeous, luxurious day, while sticking to a TIGHT budget. And now, after experiencing a LOT of different wedding days, I wanted to share a tip from a photography perspective on one way you can have BOTH!!
When planning your day, there are things that you might want to invest in just because it’s something you’ve been dreaming of, and that’s perfectly fine! I totally get that! But there are certain things that even though you spent a lot of money & time on, go unnoticed by everyone else when looking back on your day.
But there is one thing that makes a BIG difference in how “high end” your day looks…. and that is FLORALS! I know most brides can’t afford to spend thousands (or even ten’s of thousands) on real florals throughout their entire venue, so my biggest recommendation if you want your day to look like it came straight out of a magazine is to invest the most in your bridal bouquet! Trust me, if you have a gorgeous bouquet, I can make it look like there are florals EVERYWHERE in your images! Your bouquet is worth a little extra!
If you’re in the middle of planning your budget, I hope this tip helps! I’ve also included a handful of beautiful bridal bouquets from our most recent weddings as inspiration – enjoy!
