I'm a wedding & senior portrait photographer from Wisconsin with enthusiasm for big laughs, sunny days and dog snuggles.
I'm armed with coffee on the daily and a heart for capturing joyful moments of the biggest day of my couples' lives. I was lucky enough to marry my college sweetheart and have since turned him into the second half of the Katie Schubert team. We'll chat more about that, but first...
My business journey probably isn’t the one you’re expecting. Growing up, I wasn’t a kid that knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur (that title still sounds odd to me) or a photographer for that matter. In fact, there was a time around age 5 when I was pretty confident I was going to have a career as a Marine Biologist following an exciting trip to Florida.
But eventually, I started dreaming about being behind the camera. I started my business because I realized I could use my natural gifts to capture memories and bring joy into others’ lives.
I guess what I’m saying is, I was not born with a camera in-hand.
My creative journey began with a style blog. This was back in the day when it was weird to have one. I was still in college, but my weekends were spent hunting down the perfect shift dress and convincing my sweet and very patient boyfriend (now turned husband) to help me photograph it. I’m truly very grateful that this was my beginning. My opening act. I didn’t know it at the time, but it provided so many experiences that would cultivate crucial skills for my photography business, like finding great light, coordinating colors, and posing people in a flattering way.
Patio happy hours, courage > comfort, sweets of any kind, Lululemon, and chasing your dreams at full speed.
Cold weather, late nights, disorganization, spicy food, giving up on the person you are meant to become.
Cheering on cute couples, sippin' margs on the patio, decorating our home, soaking in the sun.
One cup of coffee (no matter the circumstance) cuddles with my adorable pup, and a short (real short) run outside.
The office...my 30th time?
a Starbucks latte!
The Beach House
to John Legend.. ooh la la!

My favorite spot!
Home design and interior decorating!
My cute and very silly pup, Wesley. I'm that girl who takes 5,302 pictures of her dog. Daily.
My Favorite Things
Fresh blooms. There's nothing like filling your house with the prettiest bouquets!
my guilty pleasure
Coffee. Heavy on the cream.
My nieces & nephews - all 14 of them!
This is me! I handle a lot of things (aside from laundry and anything finance-related…) and I truly do love it all. I'm the lead photographer, organizer, and the communicator during the wedding day. At home, I'm the editor, blogger and the creative part of our team. I’ll also own up to eating way too many chocolate chip cookies in one sitting.
Adam keeps our family afloat. He takes on so much of the business side of things, as well as prevents our household from becoming a complete disaster (if you thought I was a neat freak, wait until you meet Adam!). He's my voice of reason and a total "numbers guy". He's incredibly helpful and reliable on a wedding day and my go-to for everything. In addition to all of that, he's an amazing second shooter!
Don’t forget Wesley! Lover of naps, treats, and tug of war. Our sweet pup joined our family in 2016 and has been the object of our overwhelming affection ever since. He definitely holds the title of “Most Spoiled” in our household. You’ve probably seen dozens of photos of him on Instagram already! We’re a bit obsessed.
We cherish strong relationships, personal connections, and interactions with our couples that go far beyond just the wedding day. It's what our business is built on. If we sound like we might be a great fit, I'd love to learn more about you!
are we a match made in Heaven?
